Here’s Paul:

Dear Church,

Here’s the gospel – what Jesus did. Here’s what to reject as a false gospel – what certain leaders say you have to do. Here’s your responsibility – what you will do if you believe.

Honing in on Paul’s instructions on responsibilities, Colossians 3 leaves little room for error. He’s told the Christians things like don’t lie or envy, avoid idolatry and anger, be kind, humble, meek, patient, forgiving, thankful, accountable, prayerful, and unified.

But Paul doesn’t stop there. Paul puts the flesh on. He knew we sheep would need more information. So what does kindness, patience, and forgiveness look like? Where and when do we most need to be humble, accountable, and prayerful? Paul targets specific human relationships – namely the most common ones.

Wives, submit to your husbands, as is fitting to the Lord.

Everyday Encounters With the Creator

Husbands, love your wives, and do not be harsh with them.

Husbands are called to love, that is, to show love in their actions and speech towards their wives. Their natural tendency and temptation is not to. Paul wouldn’t have specified this if it were not so.

This, the second instruction given by Paul for human relationships, is obviously not for me. But I do know something of what he is talking about. I don’t really like to focus on things that God instructs others to do because I feel our priorities lie in searching out the things he instructs us to do. But I can tell you what a loving husband looks like.

Daily Reflections:2015-05-11.

As we face the end times and the imminent return of Jesus ,the Spiritual warfare has intensified………

Many persons are under siege and we see the increase in murders that do not make sense especially amongst law enforcement officers who are called to Protect and Serve.

As God leads persons into my life that are seeking to live more for God,I am meeting many well-meaning persons facing serious generational curses, many who have sickness etc because some one has released a occult curse against them..I am meeting many with marital problems,many who have serious financial problems,many who are under serious witchcraft attacks coming from the districts and communities they live in.

The onslaught is all part of the end time battle between the kingdom of light and the kingdom of darkness before as I said earlier the return of Jesus…..

Those who face this onslaught need not despair or worry about this end time battles or the increase in warfare in our lands.

Bible warns us of the last days..

Luke 21:25 – 21:26

²⁵ And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring;

²⁶ Men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.

2 Timothy 3:1 – 3:5

¹ This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.

² For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,

³ Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,

⁴ Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;

⁵ Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

These times will have challenges for those who seek to serve God , our spouses, our partners,our children, relatives, families, friends…….

However we are not to despair.We can find shelter in the comfortable arms of our God, Psalms 91 and wait on him..Isaiah 40:31.

Happy Mothers day to all mothers on this mailing list and to all mothers across the globe.
I first of all want to thank God for a wonderful mother , who God used to touch my life and to discipline me and to cultivate in me through corporal punishment and prayer that desire to live for and serve God…

Many on Mother;s day will voice that they had the best Mother.I know the esteem,I hold my deceased mother in..I know the morals and character,she had and the impact she had on many lives,but I will not voice that she was the best,but indeed a Proverbs 31 woman in every aspect……

I want to thank God for a wonderful educator, ,who taught me to read and write from age 2,who helped to hone the skills of English in me ,encouraged me to read extensively as a boy ,who gave me my first bible at age 21 and who encouraged me , as I first sought to go into full-time ministry…..
I also want t thank God for the many elderly women, who God has blessed my life with ,who have stood as adopted mothers who over the years,before and after my mothers death, who have also provided my life with guidance and prayer support and help me to establish my own identity in life and to be bold and not to seek to walk in the corridors of sin, the avenues of unrighteousness,the streets of worldliness ,the back streets of greed, promiscuity and the boulevards of conformity…….

My biological mother was a woman of prayer,who God used to counsel many ,who was against domestic abuse ,who believed in fidelity ,who has extreme high morals and values that she has passed on to her children…….

I am blessed and thankful,that I had wisdom ,that despite as a youth I sought to rebel ,God saw it fit to bring me back to embrace and become an advocate and seek to encourage others to walk in a way that is wholly and pleasing to God.

I am also blessed by God to realize the need to honor those in our lives constantly and to use available time and not just one day to honor those who God has placed in our lives as beacons and lights to help guide and shape us ………..

My mother taught me this bible verse as a youth,when ever I faced challenges……..Isaiah 40:31, ” BUT THOSE THAT WAIT UPON THE LORD ,

Pudding and Souse Reflections :2015-05-09.

Pudding and Souse is a delicacy,that many Barbadians travel miles to get or stand in long lines to purchase.

On the other hand Sardines is some thing that many Barbadians scoff at.

It is seen as a Poor man’s dish,it is raw, smelly to some who make fun at persons with Sardines Breath.

It is a social no-no, to invite anyone to your house and serve sardines in a meal. No No…

But Sardines are nutritious ,eating them on a regular basis does the body more good than harm, has more nutrients than the much-loved, sought after and craved Pudding and Souse.

I love to dress my Sardines . I am not like a former acquaintance,who use to sit and pick ,clean the sardines ,before she added her herbs etc.

I love my Sardines with loads of onions, chopped peppers, chopped tomatoes, chopped cucumbers , herbs, and if needed be mayonnaise .

It is tasty and as I ate my sardines ,all crushed and mixed ,I noted the colors, the reds ,the greens etc that were all mixed in and the flavor of it.

As I reflected on this meal that was not so popular ,vs the one that was so popular it reminded me of the Christian Walk vs the Spiritual walk that many seem to be venturing on..

The Spiritual walk that many embraced which allows them to believe in a supreme being , energy ,to acknowledge,the universe ,to develop self and self-awareness ..This is what one writer says about the Spiritual walk..

The Spiritual walk that seems attractive to many,that makes persons feel that they are responsible for their own destinies and purposes.

The Spiritual walk just like the Pudding and Souse is a popular one where many weekly participate in,use intellectual discourse to lure those who have studied in the halls of academia ,whose minds have been shaped by exponents of thwarted minds that oozes brilliance,but have been darkened by total eclipse of morality, values,ethics, discipline,and deceived by the pleasure principles of life and all that seduces men and women to faithfully follow Adam and Eve and take a bite of the Proverbial Apple that leads clearly to Spiritual death ,followed by Physical death.

Sardines can be reckoned to be like Christianity to many..Many just blatantly refuse to use it and make all sorts of excuses not to eat it or as I did properly prepare it.
Many base not eating it, or not following Christianity,based on the experiences of others ,some which may have been bad,or simply because they perceived that it was not to their likening without tasting/testing it….

Yes Sardines carry a raw scent that many dislike.A scent that good toothpaste, adequate brushing of the teeth and good oral hygiene will erase in no time.

Many say they have a bad taste,experiences in Christianity and many can’t handle the tests,trials, temptations, persecutions that can come to truly born again Christians.

Or is part of the strategy that the evil one uses to move persons away from their walk with God as he tries to kill, steal and destroy..

We live in a world that God created and persons,man and woman to worship him, but man disobeyed and then they was a rebellion against God and all he did and that has gone on for centuries.

In 2015 we can equate that battle to Sardines vs Pudding and Souse…

Simple minds will comprehend……Minds steeped in ancient philosophy,blended with new age philosophy and distilled with academia,egotism ,and illusions of grandeur will never grapple what the minds of those who have become like little children…………

Bon Appetite…..Sardines were delicious..
